Using DFNconf

  1. Click on the link (invitation e-mail).
  2. Click on the green button "Video".

  3. If you are host enter your PIN. If you are guest just klick "Join".
  4. You will enter the conference room.

  5. Click on the arrow on the left to use the instant messenger, see more information about the participants and get more options.

Screen, Window Sharing

  1. Click on the button "content":
    • width=30%

  2. * Firefox (Screen sharing only): Select "Entire Screen" and then "Allow".
    • Chromium: Install the extension. Click on window and then select the window of your choice. width=30%

Testcalls

Check your audio and video in a web browser by using this URL: http://www.conf.dfn.de/webapp/conference/9791. This is a live-test service, your will see your mirror image with a certain delay and the sound is delayed as well.

For H.323, SIP and Skype for Business testcall options visit the DFNconf website.

Troubleshooting

Linux: Microphone problems

If other participants can't hear you, check if your microphone is plugged in. If it is follow this instructions:

  1. Open PulseAudio Volume Control. (The icon is located on your panel.) 01PulseAudio.png

  2. Go to "Input Devices".
  3. Check if all input devices will be shown.
  4. If you found the microphone which is plugged in, check the muting button. The colour should be the same as the background colour.
